White smoke billowing at the Vatican indicates we have a new pope

White smoke! The 133 Cardinal electors gathered in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel have elected the new Pope. He will appear soon at the central window of St. Peter’s Basilica.

White smoke was seen pouring from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel this afternoon, indicating a new pope has been chosen.
The 267th pope will be revealed when he emerges from the balcony at St. Peter’s Basilica.
One hundred thirty-three cardinal electors gathered for the centuries-old secret voting ritual to elect a new pope to follow Pope Francis, who died April 21.
